Our Journey With God

Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. 1 Peter 1:18 MSG

God At The Center, What We Need For Everyday

Proverbs 16:9 (NLT)
“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps”.

One thing I have learned in life.  “If I keep God in the middle of my life and everything that comes with it, God will direct my steps”.  This is such an easy principle but so hard to do when we want control.  Notice my first sentence states, “I have learned”.  Trust me it has been a process, a long process, but God is faithful and so patient with us.  He has plans for us and he knows we may not get it right all the time, but He loves us and wants to prosper us according to Jeremiah 29:11.  I want to lead you through a journey of putting God in the middle of your life.  I feel in my heart that this is so needed today in our society.  I see many people seeking in the wrong things of life and living their lives stuck in a cycle of depression, anxiety, stress, and not getting anywhere in life.  All along wondering how it was that they ended up where they are.  I want to point us to the idea of Putting God in the Middle of Our Life so that God Can Direct Us.  This can be so beneficial spiritually.  Think about it!  We literally kill ourselves to be physical fit, starve ourselves to be thin, and all so that we can be physical healthy.  Oh and this is good trust me but, we fail to do this for our spiritual lives.  Starting today I want for all of us to build spiritual habits that will bring our spiritual health back to where it should be.  In this devotional series we will look at:  Prayer, Studying God’s Word, creating a dependence on God, putting into practice Obedience to God, serving God and others, and lastly becoming God’s Ambassador.  It’s my prayer that you make the choice to bring your spiritual health  back up where it should be.  Until tomorrow Blessings Pastor Fernando Charles II

Today’s Prayer:

God I want you to be the center of my life.  This means the center of my marriage, my relationships, my children’s life, my work, my recreation time, my personal time with you, even when I think no one is looking.  Help me to make good choices in life, that they be divinely directed by you and not by me.  You Guide My Steps Everyday, Every Moment.  In all that I do be pleasing to you.  Amen.

Devotion, Take Up Your Cross

Luke 9:23 (NLT)
23 Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.

Click and listen to this song, my inspiration for this writing:  Devotion by Hillsong United

When your in ministry like I am, there are many times that I will feel that things aren’t going right, and that feeling just might bring me down.  Tell me if this is you?  When your just trying to please the Lord on the daily, even then things won’t go as planned, this will make you feel so down and alone at times.  In life we will try to please everyone but we will quickly realize that we can not.  Then frustration will set in and the feeling of giving up, throwing in the towel, hoisting up the white flag, or kicking the can of despair may come into mind.  The song “Devotion”, by Hillsong United, came on and the words began describing how I’m so feeling today, and at the same time it ministered to my sadden heart.  As I was in prayer the Lord put Luke 9:23 on my heart.  My life is dedicated to being the best Christ follower I can be.  I will be so honest with you, I will not always get it right, but everyday I strive to die to myself, so that God can use the broken pieces of my life for His will.  I will always strive to please God and Him only.  Because the goal is to absolutely surrender my life over to Him.  I have learned in my years of ministry that following Christ is hard but the reward is eternity.  I’m not here to live for myself, or to please others, I’m here to worship the Lord.  Today, I’m making it a point to be “Devoted” to the one who sent his Son.  “This one thought is unmistakable, I take up my cross and follow you Lord”!

Today I just want to enourage you, where every you are in ministry or just in life.  God promises to never leave us.  So Go! Tell Others About Him!  He Walks With You.

Matthew 28:19-20New Living Translation (NLT)
19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[a] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

“Devotion” Lyrics

I’ve been running, trying to be one who sees
I’ve been working, salvation out on my knees
There is nothing better than knowing
We are redeemed
I’m believing, trusting in Creative Hands,
I am praying for our world to bow to Your Plan
And this one thought is unmistakable
To take up my cross and follow You, LordWhen You stand, the tall tress and mountains bow
When You speak, the fiercest of oceans is still
And I see the sinner seek devotion
The lost become chosen, and I fall to my knees

I’m forgiven by a Saviour who did not deserve death
He was blameless and I was lost in shamefulness
I’m delivered, but it doesn’t seem right
Unless I keep my eyes focused on the Saviour who gave His life
In the middle of a world that denies it believes
It is breaking apart at the very seams
There is one thing to be alive for
And it’s to take up my cross and follow You, Lord

When You stand, the tall trees and mountains bow
When You speak, the fiercest of oceans is still
And I see the sinner seek devotion
The lost become chosen, and I fall to my knees

I will take up my cross and follow, Lord where You lead me
And I will take up my cross and follow wherever You go

When You stand, the tall trees and mountains bow
When You speak, the fiercest of oceans is still
And I see the sinner seek devotion
The lost become chosen, and I fall to my knees

Fall to my knees

More Than Conquerors

Romans 8:31-39

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us,who can be against us?  He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?   Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.   Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.   Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?   As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.   For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

You know sometimes things in life will seem so tough that at the end of the day we feel that we will never conquer that Giant that is in front of us.  And of course our enemy will be right there to tell us we will never win, or we don’t have what it takes to win.  But i’m here to remind you today that you are a Overcomer!  I’m reminded of what John tells us in 1 John 5:5, “Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God”.  If you have given your life to the Lord you have victory in Jesus name.  You are more than a conquer.

Today as you go through your day remember nothing can separate us from the Love of God and what ever we face in life God has a plan and give us victory.

Be Imitators Of God

Ephesians 5:1 (NLT)

Living in the Light

“Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.”

Good afternoon mighty warriors of the Faith.  I have said it many times to many people.  To survive this life we must have a relationship with God our we will fall into temptation and fall  into the darkness.  I speak to you today from a lot of experience in this myself.  We must be Imitators of God.  Jesus’ own words in John 15:5(NLT), “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”

If we are not imitating God we are imitating our own fleshly desiries.  Oh and by the way that is called sin.  Let us focus on the one who died for us, gave his life for us.  Jesus, Jesus precious Jesus.  The son of God, our rock, our shield.  The one who defeated sin and death.  The one who hung on the cross, died, and that the devil thought it was finished but Jesus rose on the third day went down to hell and took the keys away from the devil and looked the devil in the eye and said, what’s up devil”.  Jesus who had made us more than conquerors.  My friends we must Live In The Light.  When we know the truth it will set us free!

Be blessed today, chaplain Fernando Charles

Living By The Power of The Holy Spirit

Good morning mighty warriors of the Faith.  Today I’m choosing to make a change in my life.  For many years I have dealt with two big issues, anger and and my weight.  Today I’m tired of holding on to them and I want to give them to God.  And I want to show you how I’m going to do this so you can do the same.  Read with me our verse of the day.

Living by the Spirit’s Power

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.

Galatians 5:16 NLT

It is my sinful nature that holds me back from truly giving my all to God.  When I’m angry my mind is not on the things of the Lord my focus is away from God.  When I eat food that is not good for me or drink soda, these things are harming my health.  Then I’m not a good steward of this body God has given me to take care of.  So everyday I must let the spirit of God and his power lead me, so that when I feel anger developing in me I will keep my eyes on Christ.  When I am going to eat, I’m going to choose healthy foods.  I will only drink water, I’m going to allow the spirit of God to give me the strength to make great decisions.  My friends, today choose to be lead by the spirit and his power so that we can sin less.  We are all sinners according to God’s word but living by the power of the spirit, we can sin less.

Blessings to you today Chaplain Fernando Charles.

The Lord Is Our Shield and Strength

Good morning Might Warriors of the Faith.  In the hands of the warrior, the shield was a very effective weapon.  Not only was it meant for defence, but could be used with great force.  In battle the shield was very vital to have and use.  The same is with our spiritual walk with God.  Warriors read with me or verse of the day.
Psalm 28:7-8 (NLT)

The Lord is my strength and shield.  I trust him with all my heart.  He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.  I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.  The Lord gives his people strength.  He is a safe fortress for his anointed king.”
In our walk with God he is our shield and strength.  So as we suit up in the morning by putting on the full armor of God, which is trusting fully in him.  Our faith becomes our shield.  Our knowledge of God, by not just carrying the sword, but studying it, becomes our greatest strength in combination.  This is how we will “resist the flaming arrows of the evil one”as Paul says in Ephesians 6.  Knowing this gives us strength.  Today know that our strength and joy come from the Lord.  Blessings to you today, chaplain Fernando Charles.

In The Arms of Jesus

Wrap Me In Your Arms (Song)

Good Morning Mighty Warriors of the Faith!  I’m just so excited for this encouraging word for today.  This is inspired by the song above.  I would encourage you to listen and pray as you here this song.  You see God is the one who takes care of us.  His word even tells us that he will be with us all through our lifetime.  That is so awesome to know because I sometimes feel as if I were alone.  But our enemy would want us to think that way, but the opposite is so true.  God is with us, he made us, and he carries us through the toughest of times in our lives.  Read the Verse of the Day with me.

Isaiah 46:4 (NLT)

I will be your God throughout your lifetime until your hair is white with age.  I made you, and I will care for you.  I will carry you along and save you.

Today, I want to encourage you that there is a God who loves you!  Who wraps you in his arms.  God knows you and he knows what you are going through.  It is my prayer that today you allow Christ to come in and change you from the inside out.  Trust me it will be a day that you will never forget.  Let Jesus wrap you in his arms.

Blessings to you today Chaplain Fernando Charles II

What Happens When God Shows Up

Isaiah 43:2 (NLT)

When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.  When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown.  When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.

Deuteronomy 31:8 (NLT)

Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

Good Afternoon Mighty Warriors of the Faith!  I want share with you some truth today.  Each day I wake, is another day that I battle the enemy.  I battle in so many ways depression, procrastination, anger, financial issues, you name it, I fight it everyday.  But I have found truth and I want to share it with you.  Because in my situation, all of those things I mentioned above could just crush me, but they don’t.

Here is why, “Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-3

Truth?  Pilate asked Jesus when he was brought to him, “what is truth?” in John 18:38.  You see at the time nobody saw that the truth was standing right in front of them.  Jesus told them, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.  John 14:6

The truth is this, if we remain faithful to God and his teachings, and I mean really studying God’s word and putting it in our mind and heart,  we will know that God has a great plan for us.  We will know that we are never alone in what ever we face or go through. I love what the Apostol Paul says, “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”  Ephesians 6:13 (NIV)

Today and everyday put on your armor and you will see God do great things in your life.  Because when God shows up he makes things happen.  Blessing to you today Chaplain Fernando Charles II
