Psalm 147:11The Message
7-11 Sing to God a thanksgiving hymn, play music on your instruments to God, Who fills the sky with clouds, preparing rain for the earth, Then turning the mountains green with grass, feeding both cattle and crows. He’s not impressed with horsepower; the size of our muscles means little to him. Those who fear God get God’s attention; they can depend on his strength.
What is “Hope”? According to the dictionary hope is, “the expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen”. When it comes to Our Journey With God, we know that, we who have given our hearts to Jesus, according to John 3:16, that we will live with Him with everlasting life. So our hope is that we will live with Him forever in heaven according to his word. So here is a question, where is your hope? I’m a chaplain In a prison and it is the best ministry God has placed me in. I hear it from different people when I tell them where I serve, they automatically begin to feel bad for the men in the unit. I explain to them that the men on the unit believe in the hope that we have through Jesus. And that even though they are there for what ever they have done, they have hope in the Lord. And it puzzles me that they believe that there is no hope for them. Which brings me to a question that if they feel that way about others, where will they find themselves if they were in a bad situation? Will they find hope when there seems to be no hope at all? Acts 2:26-27 (NRSV) says; “therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; moreover my flesh will live in hope. For you will not abandon my soul to Hades”. This talks about being happy in times of trials. It is in those times our flesh wants to give up, and to cry out because it feels alone and abandoned. But, God’s word comes with a promise, He Will Never Leave You. Today I want you to know you have Hope In The Lord.
Pray: Dear Lord, my flesh is so weak. I give up so many times, I fail you often. But when I trust in you, you take care of me, you protect me, you give me peace. Continue to guide me in your way, for your way is the best way. You are a great God, loving to your children forever. Thank you for never leaving me.
