2 Timothy 1:7 (New Life Version)
For God did not give us a spirit of fear. He gave us a spirit of power and of love and of a good mind.
The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?
Romans 8:37 (NIV)
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
We all have fears that shake us to the core. There are things that we will not do because we fear the outcome. My greatest fear is heights and elevators. I can not be in high places because I will become overwhelmed by the fear of falling. Or a ride in an elevator for me is a fearful ride because of the knowledge I have of the heavy metal box I’m in along with my weight only being pulled up and down by a few thin cables. What if the cables break? If I allow my fears to rule me then I will never face them. That is how we are we allow our fears to bind us and hold us down. There are also, fears that are deep fears. Fear’s that stop us from starting or moving us forward. This is the spirit of fear, this is the spirit that God has not given to us. We have Joy that only comes for the Lord. Nehemiah 8:10 says, “This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Therefor we should not ever fear. Psalm 27:1 says, “The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?” Christ has defeated all fear through his death and resurrection on the cross. We have been created to be Conquerors through Christ. There is nothing we should fear, not circumstances, trials, or what ever comes our way. As christians we are new creations, we are constantly leaning on Christ. Also, daily we should be laboring with Christ. Today, know that what ever you face you can conqueror it with Jesus on your side.
Pray: Father thank you for your son who gave his life for me on that cross. And because of that there is nothing that can hold me back, hold me down in completing what you have for me. Today, what I face I do not face alone but with you by my side. Amen.
