You Have Hope!

1 Chronicles 28:9 (MSG)

9-10 “And you, Solomon my son, get to know well your father’s God; serve him with a whole heart and eager mind, for God examines every heart and sees through every motive. If you seek him, he’ll make sure you find him, but if you abandon him, he’ll leave you for good. Look sharp now! God has chosen you to build his holy house. Be brave, determined! And do it!”

What is hope?  We often here this word thrown around but do we really know what it is?  The dictionary gives this definition, “To wish for something with expectation of its fulfillment, or to have confidence; trust.  As  a christian we know that our hope is in the Lord.  But sometimes I wonder if we really have hope?  As christian’s do we really have hope?  The answer is very simple, Yes!  Our hope is in Jesus,  1 Timothy 4:10, “That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.”  Things happen in our lives, situations come in our lives like big storms and they sometimes come crashing in.  And we forget about the hope we have, and we begin to worry and lose heart instead of going to God for help.  We lean on our own selves and not on God.  Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”  Today know that you have hope when it seems hopeless.  Jesus gave us hope when he rose again from the dead.  You have power in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  YOU HAVE HOPE.

Pray:  Thank you God, for being my hope.  I know that what ever I face or what ever comes my way you are there for me.  Father let me know everyday with great reminders of this wonderful hope we have in you.  Help me to share this Great hope of what Jesus has done for us with others.  Amen.

Born To Lose, Created To Win!

John 15:16 (MSG)

16 “You didn’t choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you.

Jeremiah 29:11 (ERV)

11 I say this because I know the plans that I have for you.” This message is from the Lord. “I have good plans for you. I don’t plan to hurt you. I plan to give you hope and a good future.
I remember when i was in elementary school, after lunch we used to go to recess and play.  My friends and I loved to play football, but there was that dreaded stand in line to be chosen to be on a team thing.   It was so nerve-racking because I was a chubby kid growing up and most of the time I was picked last or to even out the team.  Yea i was the one that was picked on and made fun of.  Sometimes we think God is the same way, and we think to ourselves “ahh God will not choose me for anything, I’m good and I don’t need to worry.”  So we remain in our comfort zone and stay safe cause we don’t want to do too much for God.  But God has chosen you to preach his word, in Matthew 28:19-20, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Just because we are Christians  doesn’t mean that is it.  Jesus has given us a job to do.  This is why John 15:16 is so important,  God has chosen you and me, and this is on a personal level here.  You see the enemy will tell you that “God doesn’t need you”, or that “you can’t do nothing”.  He will use every excuse in his power to convince you that you can not do anything for God.  You know we are his disciples and we have the power to carry out the “Great Commission” in Matthew.  Acts 1:8 reminds us, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  You know God has it all planned out for you,  all we have to do is follow him.  Today know that God has a plan for you,   even though we were born to lose because of sin, he has created us to win with his power.  Today you are a winner, go out and tell others about what God has done for you.
Pray:  Thank you God for creating me to win.  Your word reminds me that you have a plan and i know that your way is the best.  Today help me to follow your plan,  this plan is not to harm me but to take me to a place of hope for my future.  When the enemy comes remind me of this, so that i remain faithful to you.  Today let me share with one person what you have done for me.
