1 Chronicles 28:9 (MSG)
9-10 “And you, Solomon my son, get to know well your father’s God; serve him with a whole heart and eager mind, for God examines every heart and sees through every motive. If you seek him, he’ll make sure you find him, but if you abandon him, he’ll leave you for good. Look sharp now! God has chosen you to build his holy house. Be brave, determined! And do it!”
What is hope? We often here this word thrown around but do we really know what it is? The dictionary gives this definition, “To wish for something with expectation of its fulfillment, or to have confidence; trust. As a christian we know that our hope is in the Lord. But sometimes I wonder if we really have hope? As christian’s do we really have hope? The answer is very simple, Yes! Our hope is in Jesus, 1 Timothy 4:10, “That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.” Things happen in our lives, situations come in our lives like big storms and they sometimes come crashing in. And we forget about the hope we have, and we begin to worry and lose heart instead of going to God for help. We lean on our own selves and not on God. Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Today know that you have hope when it seems hopeless. Jesus gave us hope when he rose again from the dead. You have power in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. YOU HAVE HOPE.
Pray: Thank you God, for being my hope. I know that what ever I face or what ever comes my way you are there for me. Father let me know everyday with great reminders of this wonderful hope we have in you. Help me to share this Great hope of what Jesus has done for us with others. Amen.
