You are Good When There Is Nothing Good In Me!

>>>>>>>>>>Forever Reign by Hilsong Live<<<<<<<<

Ephesians 3:14-19 (MSG)

My response is to get down on my knees before the Father, this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth. I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.

This last week was a real test for my fiance and me.  We are getting ready to become husband and wife we can not wait for that day to come.  We are planing, saving money, creating guest lists and everything else that goes with planing a wedding, then, when out of no where my truck dies on me.  My transmission was blown, what a huge and expensive expense we would have to make to fix my truck.  My reaction was typical…. UTTER PANIC!!!  Money was already tight and now this.  In our marriage conference we attended we learned about situations like this would arise.  We had leaned in the financial portion of the conference that we should set aside an emergency fund.  Well we did that but we had no where near what we needed for the truck.  I was so worried on how I was going get this fixed. I knew I didn’t have the money, I knew I didn’t have the know how of how to fix it.  All I could think about was how My hands were tied.   Noticed the bold letters, yes all I was thinking of was Me, me, me!  After a few days of bumping my head on things I could not change, I realized I needed to go to God cause we found ourselves in a situation where we had no other place to turn to.  God opened doors and sent people to us who helped us.  We were so thankful to the brothers and sisters of the church who came to our rescue.   On Sunday morning everything was put into perspective for me.  I learned that God is there for us and he knows what we are going through.  And when he comes to us we should answer him not with excuses but with understanding that he is willing to meet us where we are.  We sang in worship the song titled, “Forever Reign”.  It was in this song as we were worshiping that I grabbed my pen and wrote on my hand this statement:  “Today I’m letting go of what is happening in me and around me, and letting God have all of me and all that is around me.”  The song say, “You are good, you are love, you are light, you are hope, you are peace, you are true, you are joy, you are life, you are more, you are Lord, you are here, you are God.  The enemy tries to put in our minds that there is no good in us, no love, no light, no hope, no peace, no truth, no joy and no life.  But God is all these things, and he is never dimmed out by our situations, our responses, or the doubts we have.  God is Love!  1 John 4:8, “My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can’t know him if you don’t love. This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God.”

Today if you’re struggling with situations in your life I pray you do as I did and go quickly to God and his word for direction when you face things that seem to huge for life.  Also, go to a christian brother or sister so they can be praying with you also.  2 Thessalonians 1:3-4, “You need to know, friends, that thanking God over and over for you is not only a pleasure; it’s a must. We have to do it. Your faith is growing phenomenally; your love for each other is developing wonderfully. Why, it’s only right that we give thanks. We’re so proud of you; you’re so steady and determined in your faith despite all the hard times that have come down on you. We tell everyone we meet in the churches all about you.”  Today pray, tomorrow pray!  Pray in all things, for all things, even when things are going well.

Pray:  God thank you for your blessings.  I know sometimes things happen and I think I lose all control.  Help me to remember that you are the one in control and not me.  You are Good, you are Peace and I need that in my life.  My heart will sing no other name.  I’m running to you my God, my Savior and nothing comepares to you.  Amen.

Giving Thanks!

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Self-Portraits of Jesus Series – “I Am”!

John 14:6 (NIV)

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Today I wanted to try to paint a portrait of Jesus through his “I AM” statements.  I think it is important to see how powerful they were and how powerful they can be in our lives.  First let’s look at Christ’s ministry, when Jesus revealed himself as the Messiah, or the one who would save the world he began his ministry by performing Miracles, and teaching.  But he was not easily accepted by the religious community.  On one occasion Jesus was teaching by the lake in Mark 2:13-17, and he saw a tax collector there named Levi and he went to him and told him to follow him and he did.  Later on Jesus was having supper at his house and others who did not know God were there too.  When the religious teachers of the time saw him there they questioned Jesus’ disciples “why” he was eating with these sinners.  Jesus heard this and told them this very important statement in verse 17, “On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”  This is what Jesus’ ministry was all about.  He wanted to tell everyone who he was and how they could go to heaven and live with the Father.  In our verse today Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  Lets look at that statement closely.  “I am the way” means that Jesus leads us to the Father.  “I Am The Truth” teaches us knowledge of God and directs in the way.  “I Am The Life”, brings to life all those who seek and serve him, and which is to be celebrated eternally at the end of the way.  Today God want’s you to know that there is a place prepared for you in heaven only if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior.  Christ’s mission was to show us the way, and fight death by giving himself to die on the cross for us.  This debt we had because of sin we could never pay, but “God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”  John 3:16  Let Jesus in your heart today he is the only way to heaven, he is the only truth, and he is the life.  If Jesus is not the Lord of your life pray the prayer bellow and give your everything to him.

Pray:  Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.  I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.  You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.  Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.  Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.

Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.

Are We Going To Do This Or Not?

Ephesians 2:10 -New Living Translation-

10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

**Today’s Blog comes with a “Disclaimer”.  Forgive me but I may not sound like “Mister Nice Guy” today, God is speaking today.**

I was about to go to bed for the night and God spoke to my heart and I had to come and write.  After a long while of speaking with people about God and listening to their laments I heard many things that bothered me.  So I have been praying and now God has answered.  He placed Ephesians 2:10 on my heart.  As I studied this verse I began to see what I’ve been struggling with in my heart and how to answer.  When it comes to life, family, jobs, church, and relationships these are the things I have heard.

“I don’t like change”, “This is too hard”, “I’m not beautiful”, “I feel God calling me to ministry but I don’t think I’m cut out for it”.  “This place is different and people will look at me and want to come talk to me”.  “I can not change, this is the way i am”.  “I love you but can’t show you”, “I’m fat and that makes me ugly”.

All these are things I have heard people say and God put Ephesians 2:10 on my heart and mind.  According to our scripture today everything I have heard and listened to above are contrary to Gods word.  Why?  Are you ready? What I heard God say was, “Are we going to do this or not?  Stop complaining move forward and stop going backward.”   You see we are to be busy for God, we are to be busy for our loved ones, we are to busy following God.  What is Paul saying to us today?  First, “we are created by God and we are his masterpiece.  BUT, in our minds we try to find our own identities.  We struggle to make ourselves beautiful by plastic surgery, putting on the most expensive things.  when we are already beautiful, the bible tells us we are created in the image of God in Genesis.  We are beautiful no matter how you think.  Second, Paul says through christ Jesus we have salvation, a new forgiven life.   BUT, everyday we continue to live a life of sin.  This is a life that keeps us tied down to the “same ol thing”.  Bound to never move forward.  If we want to stop cursing for example, we have to stop filling our mind with trash and fill it with Godly things.  We have to take that step if we want to change.  God can only chang us if we really want him to.  Third, he created us to do good things.  BUT, we do bad things all the time.  If someone wrongs us we want to get them back, but the bible says “vengeance is mine says the Lord.  But God created us  better than that, “do good not evil.”  Romans 7:19, “I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway.”  3 John 1:11, “Dear friend, don’t let this bad example influence you. Follow only what is good. Remember that those who do good prove that they are God’s children, and those who do evil prove that they do not know God.”  Lastly,  our life is already planned out for us by God himself.  BUT, we say, “God’s Plan”?  “What does God know about me”?  “Who cares about what God has planed, I make my own way”!  This is how I am and now one can make me change”.  You see there are so many things we face in life but if we don’t trust in God then everything we say comes true. Things in life will be hard, you will never change cause you don’t want it.  You will always be afraid of new things cause we will never put our trust in God.  Today God is asking “are we going to do this or not?”  Stop making excuses give your life to him.

I love the way “The Message” version is written for Ephesians 2:10, “Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.”

Today trust God with everything he has a plan for us.  Remember  we do not play the major role, God does.  We can’t save ourselves only God can.   What is the constant theme here?  We were created by God to work together with him, never us leading but being led by God.  Trust God with your life today he can change you from the inside out.

Pray:  God today I do not want to follow my own way, your way is the best allow me to do all you have created me to be.  I love you God with my whole life.  Show me today your will, life will not be easy but easier cause you are with me and you guide my steps and you have me all planed out.  Your still working on me, ,make me the way you want me to be made.  I’m your masterpiece.  Amen!

Don’t Miss The Boat

Matthew 7:21-23 (MSG)

21-23 “Knowing the correct password—saying ‘Master, Master,’ for instance—isn’t going to get you anywhere with me. What is required is serious obedience—doing what my Father wills. I can see it now—at the Final Judgment thousands strutting up to me and saying, ‘Master, we preached the Message, we bashed the demons, our God-sponsored projects had everyone talking.’ And do you know what I am going to say? ‘You missed the boat. All you did was use me to make yourselves important. You don’t impress me one bit. You’re out of here.’

Yesterday I was speaking with some one who was telling me how struggles were coming in their life and as I was listening I realized that even though they said they knew God they really didn’t.  Their tones in their voice and the franticness if you will, told me I was their last resort.  They knew God from only a distance.  So I began to see that the struggles they were having was because of their lack of a relationship with God.  You see we can say we all know God, but to be honest do we really know God?  You see there should be a relationship that we all have with God to really know who he is and by doing this he is the one who is going to direct us and move us in the directions we should go in our life.  I’m not saying your life will be easier because you know him but you will have someone to hold on to through the struggles.  Knowing God is not just merely praying for your dinner, or only calling on him when things are bad, no God is not a calling card, he’s not a get out of jail or free me from my struggles card.  Just singing a song that sounds good on Klove on a Sunday and then living like the devil on monday no!  God’s word is simple, in our verse today we can see God wants a relationship from you, why?  Simply this, because he has a plan for you.  A plan to help you along and make you better.  A plan to get you through this thing we call life, not just for now in the present but in the future as well.  Living a full life with hope.  Jer. 29:11  God is not just someone way up high who just looks down at us and doesn’t care, He cares for you, and he loves you so much that he wants to have a wonderful relationship with you.  Give your life to him today.

Pray:  God thank you for today, such a beautiful day.  It’s a day you have made, today help me to know you more.  Help me to give my life to you, cause I want to obey your commands.  I want a relationship with you because your plans are best for me and they are plans to make me better.  Guide me today in your love. Amen

What Do You Desire The Most?

Psalm 37:4 (NLV)

Be happy in the Lord. And He will give you the desires of your heart.

Have you ever asked yourself this question?  “What do I want the most in my life?”  This last couple of weeks I have been asking myself this question.  I know God has put this question on my mind for a reason and when he does that I know I’m going to face struggles and temptations in my life.  I also know the enemy is out there just looking for a weak spot.  This question opens many things, I can react to this question in many ways.  If I allow my flesh to answer the question my flesh will answer in this way.  “I want a Harley Davidson Wide Glide all chrome with white wall tires and spoke rims, and I want to ride away and ride as long and as far as I can.”  This is what my flesh would say and not have a care in the world.  But if I really ask myself the question with my heart, what do I really want?  Honestly, simply, what I want the most in life and desire is this, first, Love the Lord my God with all your heart and with all my soul and with all my mind.  This is the Greatest commandment given to us by Jesus.  The second, And the second is like it: ‘Love my neighbor as myself.  Matthew 22:37  It’s hard to love my neighbor on my own, your neighbor is anyone who is around you in your sphear of influence.  It’s hard to love your neighbor on your own strength, we can’t do it.  This is why the first part of this scripture is important.  We have to love God first, then with our life full of God in our heart, in our soul, in our mind loving our neighbor is easy because God’s love and strength is filling us up.  Remember Paul tells us this in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”  Third, the desire of my heart is to love my New wife with all of me.  I want to show her real Godly love, I want to take care of her, I want to laugh with her.  God has put her in my life and I have the responsibility to love her as Christ loved the Chruch.  Lastly I want to love my kids with all of me.  To teach them about God and how he can be big in thier life.   To do that I have to be the example.  And they are watching me, the things I say, the things I do, thier eyes are focused on me.  I must keep my eyes focused on God to show them that God is first in my life.  This is the Desire of my heart.  What is the desire of your heart today?  Is it peace, or is it love,  is it a Godly marraige, is it for you to change inside, is it for you to treat others as you want to be treatded, what do you desire the most?  Today look around you and really look deep in your heart and ask yourself this question.  Pray to God and ask him to revil to you what is most important in your life.  Fight for what it is you want the most and remember you dont fight your battles alone, God is with you everystep of the way.

Pray:  God thank your promises,  give us today the desire of our heart.  Help us to love you most of all, to love others, and to share what you are doing in our life.  Guide me today Lord to show love and not to fight, complain, or be discouraged.  Help me to be strong and Couragous today. Amen

Disappointed In What I Saw People Saying About The Election!

Ephesians 4:29 (NLV)

Watch your talk! No bad words should be coming from your mouth. Say what is good. Your words should help others grow as Christians.

It is 11:41 pm Tuesday night, election night.  I have been watching this election so close, on TV and on Face Book.  There are a few things I saw and was really moved to write about today.  I had something totally different to write but God has directed me in this way.  I was surprised to see how many people I saw with such ugly negative comments about the election.  No matter who you voted for, always remember we are to mirror the Life of Christ, in all we do and say. To those upset at the election our eyes should always remain on God. His promise is this in Jeremiah 29:11 (CEB), “I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the Lord; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope.” Pray with me for our Leaders, James 5:16 b, “The prayer of the righteous person is powerful in what it can achieve.”  But what we say as Christians can also hurt the cause of Christ.  1 Corinthians 8:9 says, “But be careful that this right of yours in no way becomes a stumbling block to the weak.”  Their were so many who were not Christians fighting Christians.   Our lives should reflect God, not hatred, or bickering.  Today we should pray for our President, our leaders that God moves in them and love others and show them the correct way to follow Christ.

Pray:  Father God, we want to lift up our leaders to you.  We pray you guide them in everything.  Help them to make good decisions for our country, our state, our city, ourselves.  Your word says you have plans for us not to harm us but to prosper us.  We look to you and not in man, help us to keep our eyes on you.  Amen.

A New Start In Our Marriages!

Isaiah 43:19 (MSG)

This is what God says, the God who builds a road right through the ocean, who carves a path through pounding waves, The God who summons horses and chariots and armies — they lie down and then can’t get up; they’re snuffed out like so many candles: “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history.  Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.  It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it?

This last saturday my Fiance and I attended a marriage conference at our church.  You might be asking, “You went to a marriage conference and you’re not married yet”?  The answer, Yes! Let me explain, this will be my second marriage.  My first marriage didn’t go according to plan.  I made many mistakes, and man have I learned from them.  Now God has given me a second chance and has given to me the most wonderful, beautiful christian woman to be my helper. We both chose to do everything right from the beginning all the way to the end.  She is my Forever Love,  our verse from the conference was Matthew 19:6, “So they are no longer two but one. Let no man divide what God has put together.”  This is or verse that we will live by and break the cycle of Divorce.  How do we do that?  In our verse for today, Isaiah is preparing the people for their freedom from captivity from Babylon.  I know how can we apply this to us?  This is Good News, first it’s a fresh start.  In our marriages today we can have a fresh start by giving our marriages to God.  Allowing God to work in our marriage.  Second, it’s a new beginning in our marriages.  When we allow God to come in our marriages he direct it and move it in the direction that is pleasing to him.  Thirdly, he wants us to do something new in our lives.  By doing the first two the third one is easy, God wants to bless your marriage, he wants to give his children what they deserve.  As for Isaiah and the Israelite people deliverance was coming, in the New Testament redemption came when Jesus was nailed to the cross.  In our marriages we can break free from the chains of divorce by allowing God in our marriages.  Today be ready for something new, never dwell on the past, learn from it.  Remember God’s love never changes.  He is there waiting for us to let him in.  Once you alow him in he will direct your marriage the way it should go.  My Fiance and I we want our marriage build on God’s firm foundation.  I hope you do too.

I leave you with the Message version of John 10:10, “Jesus told this simple story, but they had no idea what he was talking about. So he tried again. “I’ll be explicit, then. I am the Gate for the sheep. All those others are up to no good—sheep stealers, every one of them. But the sheep didn’t listen to them. I am the Gate. Anyone who goes through me will be cared for—will freely go in and out, and find pasture. A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.

P.S. For Olga Perez my Beautiful Fiance – The life we dream of can be reached if we keep our eyes focused on Jesus.  I love you Olga. Always and Forever!  My Forever Love!

Pray:  Dear God thank you for your love.  It is so great, and there is a whole chapter on your love.  I want you to take my marriage and direct it the way it should go.  I can not do it on my own but with you all things are possible according to your word.  I don’t want the devil to ever steal my marriage, help us to be strong and courageous and to work together to love each other.  Thank you for all you have done in our marriage and what you will do in the future. Amen.
