I Offer My Heart Completely To You!

Proverbs 23:26 (ESV)

My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.

Today I’m so moved by my prayer time this morning with God.  God is the creator of all things, Isaiah 40:28 says, “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.”  Everyday I know is going to be tough for me at work, I have so many things I have to do, meetings I need to be in, deadlines I have to reach, but I know that my God, the creator of all things will be with me.  Knowing this in my prayer time with God I felt this great moving of the spirit in my heart today and Proverbs 23:26 was my scripture and today I know that by me giving my heart to God, and I follow him He will guide me in the way I should go.  I’m also strengthened by Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”  God the creator of all things is offering you today a free gift.  In faith ask God to come into your heart and allow him to direct your path.  He will never lead you to harm.  All God wants for you is to have a future that is prosperous.  Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for well-being and not for trouble, to give you a future and a hope.”  Today, offer your heart completely to God!  He will lead you to new blessings.

Pray:  God thank you for your wonderful word.  We can always go and find your promises there and know you have our life planned out for us.  Guide us, and lead us to what you want us to do.  So many times I try to lead but God you lead me and make me what you want me to be.  I am your child and Father God I love you.  Amen!

God Is?

Let It Rain

Psalm 29:11 (MSG)

11 God makes his people strong.  God gives his people peace.

Right now it’s 12:28 am Friday morning, I could not sleep.  So many things on my mind from work, to home life, my kids, my needs, my struggles, my wants, everything.  I came to face book and I wanted everyone to tell me what “God Is” to them.  I had planed to do this cool blog post about everyone’s interpretation of “What God Is” in their life.  Well no one answered.  I’m guessing God was saving this for me to answer it on my own.  So I was thinking along with everything else that is on my mind and I asked myself the question, Fernando “What is God To You”?  God to me is, especially in this very moment and how I feel, is The Prince of Peace.  God gives my heart peace, because I could be ruled by the things that are in my mind but I serve a God how brings Peace and he gives me strength to with stand what ever it is that I go through.  Jesus Culture’s song “Let It Rain”, put it all in perspective for me.  When things don’t go my way, when the pressures of this life are to great, I PRAY, God Let It Rain!  He fills my heart with what is needed for me to feel peace, and that is His Love.  Luke 10:27, “He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” For me to have God’s Peace In me I must have God’s love first.  Today, what ever happens, what ever is said, let God’s Peace and Love fill your heart today.  Live happy because your Father in Heaven Loves You!

Pray:  God rain down on us your peace and love.  Today fill my heart till it runs over with your love and Peace.  God I love you, guide my steps today as I choose to follow you and lead others to you.

By His Stripes You Are Healed!

Isaiah 53:5 (NIV)

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

On this Beautiful rainy Sunday morning we chose to watch the movie, “The Passion of the Christ”.  I have seen this movie over and over again, but today it is different.  In the last few weeks I have been faced with many things.  Struggles, pressure, and at times I myself feel as if I can not endure what it is I’m going through.  But as I watch this movie this time God begins to give me peace in my heart knowing that what I go through in life, the things I must endure are nothing compared to what Christ suffered on the Cross for me.  You see their was a debt you and I owed but Jesus came and took our place on that cross for our sins.  By doing that he made a way for us to come to the Father through him.  Jesus paid it all, and all to him I owe, as the song goes.  Today know that what ever you face Jesus has been through it, he has faced it, he died and defeated death even death on the cross and rose from the dead for You and Me!  Paul tell us that, “we can do all things through Jesus Christ who gives us strength”.  Philippians 4:13  Today be in powered knowing what ever you face Jesus is there with you.  Put you faith in Jesus Christ today, he loves you so much he died for you.

Pray:  God thank you for sending your only son to take my place.  I owed a debt i could never have paid.  Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice for me.  My God I want to be a faithful follower of Christ lead me today to tell others of your great love for them.

John 3:16 “For God So Loved The World, He Gave His Only Son That Who Ever Believes In Him Will Have Eternal Life!

Are You Relying on God or On Other Things To Get By?

Mark 10:17-22 (MSG)

To Enter God’s Kingdom

17 As he went out into the street, a man came running up, greeted him with great reverence, and asked, “Good Teacher, what must I do to get eternal life?”  18-19 Jesus said, “Why are you calling me good? No one is good, only God. You know the commandments: Don’t murder, don’t commit adultery, don’t steal, don’t lie, don’t cheat, honor your father and mother.”  20 He said, “Teacher, I have—from my youth—kept them all!”  21 Jesus looked him hard in the eye—and loved him! He said, “There’s one thing left: Go sell whatever you own and give it to the poor. All your wealth will then be heavenly wealth. And come follow me.”  22 The man’s face clouded over. This was the last thing he expected to hear, and he walked off with a heavy heart. He was holding on tight to a lot of things, and not about to let go.

I have heard it said, “Pastor Charles, I want to serve God but I have to hold on to this one thing”.  Or, (this one is a good one), “this is the way I am and I’m not going to change.”  Or, (this one is a classic), “I’ve done it this way for years, I’m not going to change”.  A lot of times we make so many excuses not to do something.  Most of the time our excuses are to God.  Everyone’s situation is different, you could be looking at a new job, or someone who God has put in your life, or your children are pointing out something you do that is not good, and most of the time we make excuses to keep doing what we are doing that others are telling us is not good.  We dismiss it, sweep it under the rug, lock it away in the closet.  But it’s still there.  We say to ourselves I need this one thing in my life but I don’t want to give it up.  Just like we do that with people we know, we do it to God so many times.  He wants us to change but we hold on to things in our life that really honestly bring us down.  You know I used to be a lot bigger than I am now.  My badge from work reminds me everyday of how much bigger I used to be.  Today, I do not allow myself to go back to the old me where I would just eat till I explode, or eat all day.  Now I take care of myself.  It is so easy just to go back to the same’ol thing as they say.  But I don’t everyday it is a fight for me to choose to move forward and not backward.  In our verse today the “rich man” did not want to let go of his wealth to follow Jesus.  He left with a hurting heart, because he wanted to follow Jesus, but he just could not let go of the one thing he loved the most.  You see God puts people in our life for a reason, God puts us in situations in our life for a reason, to learn.  Sometimes we are in the situations we’re in because of our own self.  In our verse today God wants us to see that if we call ourselves Christians, or followers of Christ, then our life should mirror him.  For us to let go of those things we hold so dearly is to let God handle it all for us.  Today God is saying don’t rely on things that bring you comfort for only just a little while.  You can never drink your problems away, cause guess what we your sober they are still there.  Today God is saying Rely on me!

Pray:  God thank you for using people and situations in my life and your wonderful word to show me the way I should go in my life.  Today guide me in giving you all my anxiety, my struggles, my needs, my wants, I want you to work them out cause I can’t do it on my own.  Help me to rely on you more and more every day.  It will be hard God but you can move mountains.  Move the mountains out of my life and the giants out of my life.  Today I choose to Follow you.  Amen!

Christians, Stand Up and Live A Life Holy and Acceptable!

Romans 12:1-2 (NLT)

A Living Sacrifice to God

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.  Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

People always tell me that I am a real good people person.  I hear people say to others after they have heard me speak God’s word sing a song, that they loved my sermon, or the song I sang.  But if you ask me I will always tell you I have nothing to do with that.  Because honestly it is God who gives me the gifts and talents I have to tell about him, and to sing about him.  Christians, the key verse in our scripture today is verse 2,  “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will”.  What does this mean for us as Christians today?  This world is in a fall disarray, because of the disarray of man.  Everything around us in this world is falling apart.  People are looking for something to fill their life.  People are looking in all the wrong places for love, for help and for guidance.

Christians God has created us different, we are not of the world, we are to look different, act different, we are to be like Jesus.  God doesn’t want us to be hidden away, NO! We are the Light of The World!  Matthew 5:14-16, ““You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven”.  We should not fit in, there has to be something about us, because people are looking at us and they need to see Jesus Christ the Son of God living and moving in our hearts, and in our souls and our being.  By doing so they will see the awesome power of God living in you.  God said, “Let us make man in our Image”.  God made you EXTRAORDINARY!  Everything around you is ordinary, but We are EXTRAORDINARY, Christians We are Champions, We are More Than Conquers.  Today live a life that others can see Jesus living in You!

Pray: Father help me today live my Life the way you want me to.  There will be those watching me and help them to see you living in me.  There will also be those who do not understand what you are doing and how you are moving in my life.  I pray for them that you revile to them your work.  Give me good words to say to others, help me to see the needs in the people hurting, the homeless, the needs of those who need you the most.  Help me to never fear where you send me to preach your word, protect me from my enemies, and most of all God you guide me, help me never to follow anyone else but you. Amen!

I Will Instruct You and Teach You!

Psalm 32:8 (NIV)

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

I remember when my children were growing up and how protective I was with them.  My oldest son picked up all of my traits I believe because he is a people person and great to get along with like me.  As he was growing he would always ask if  he could go over to a friend’s house.  We would alow him to only if we knew the family.  We were being protective as parents.  We would watch them and guide them as they grew.  This is the same with our God.  He loves us so much that he has this great plan for us.  Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.  God is looking out for us so that he can put us in the right place where we should be.  Sometimes I feel like I’m trying so hard for something and it’s just seems not to be working out.  This is when I realize that, “you know maybe this is not where God wants me or wants me to do”.  So many times I try to run ahead of God.  Today if things seem not right in your life let us have patience.  This reminds me of James 5:7, “Meanwhile, friends, wait patiently for the Master’s Arrival. You see farmers do this all the time, waiting for their valuable crops to mature, patiently letting the rain do its slow but sure work. Be patient like that. Stay steady and strong. The Master could arrive at any time”.  Today let God instruct you and teach you the way you should go.  He will lead you to a better you.

Pray:  God thank you for leading me to be a better me.  Help me to wait patiently on you and your leading.  When I try to get ahead of you hold me back.  Your way is the best way, your word in psalms says, “Praise GOD, everybody! Applaud GOD, all people! His love has taken over our lives; GOD’s faithful ways are eternal. Hallelujah”!  God put me where you want me to be. Amen!
