Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

You know I attended a Graduation this last weekend of a dear friend’s daughter, and in all of the speeches that took place Jeremiah 29:11 was the scripture that rang out.  You know in our word there are so many people in need, and they are longing for hope.  They look for hope in so many places and in so many ways, and in so many things that in time all fall away.  You see God has plans for each and every one of us.  There is a specific plan that our life is suppose to go in.  Most of the time we turn in different directions because we want to do it our way.  But guess what?  God SAYS, “For I Know The Plans I Have For You”!  I’m here to tell you  today that there is only home in one that will not fall away, one thing that will not leave us in the dark, cold and afraid.  That is only in our God.  He is Our Hope Everlasting.  Today know God has a plan for you, no matter where you are in your life.  Allow God to take you and move you in His direction and he will lead you where you have never been before.  Let God be your Everything!

Pray:  God thank you for the plans you have for me.  I would not be able to direct my own steps, I need your help.  God give me your direction today guide me in your way and not mine.  Amen!

Secure In God’s Love

Psalm 23:1  (NLT)

A psalm of David.

The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.

It is true we need things! It is also true we want things.  But needs and wants are two different things.  Today I want to talk about needs.  You see God supplies our every need.  Philippians 4:19, “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus”.  When we are weak, sick, in financial need, tired, you name it, what every need you have God will meet it.  Today I was on my way to work and I stopped at McDonald’s for breakfast.  From the corner of my eye I saw a man digging in the trash from the business next to where I was ordering my food.  I felt compassion for this poor man I bought him a huge breakfast.  I drove over to him and offered the meal he was so desperately seeking.  He told me “No Thank You Sir, I Can Manage On My Own”.  I knew he was hungry, and I know he knew I saw him digging in the trash, that he was prideful.  I told him this, “you know God put you on my heart today, and he is using me as a way to bless you with a hot meal, so you don’t want this blessing God put on my heart to give you”?  He replied, I’m sorry sir, yes I will accept your blessing, I prayed to God as I was looking for food and I didn’t find any and I was mad.  But your right God did answer my prayer”.  Thank you kind sir for this meal”.  I told him not to thank me but to keep praying to God and thanking him cause he is the one who takes care of us.  He smiled and went his way.  You see God takes care of us, and some times we are the ones who refuse the blessings he has for us.  Don’t pass up the blessings God gives to you.  You never know when or how or who God is going to use to bless you.

Pray:  Thank you God for blessing me and taking care of me.  We are nothing without you.  Continue to guide us and protect us, in Jesus name. Amen!

When It Looks Greener On The Other Side!

Mark 10:23-27 (NIV)

Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the  enter the kingdom of God!”  The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it isto enter the kingdom of God!  It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”  The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?”   Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

We sometimes look at others around us and we sometimes wonder if their life is better by the things they have.  We often wan many things we don’t have.  I find myself feeling this way at times.  For example on the way to work I was at the light and I was playing my classic Rock Station really loud with the windows down because it was a beautiful day to feel the wind in my hair.  Then around 10 bikers pulled up in the  lane next to me.  As we waited for the light to change they roared their engines.  The sound of shear thunder of the roaring engines were music to my ears.  Why, you ask?  Because for the life of me I dream of one day owning a Harley.  But I’m reminded of this verse that God provides for us and he gives us what we need.  When I feel that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, and the thought will not leave my mind, I’m reminded by God’s word that in Mark 10:27,  “Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”  Sometimes I need His strength.  Yea mostly all the time!  Today, know that God knows the desires of your heart.  Psalm 37:4, “Take delight in the Lord,  and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

Pray:  God today I know I’m in your hands.  Remind me when my heart feels that there is something better than you that there is not and you are the treasure I seek.  Help me today be satisfied with what you have given to me.  You are faithful to your children.  Thank you for loving me.  Amen!

Trust God, Don’t Doubt!

Psalm 40:1-4  (NLT)
1 I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire.. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols.

In all I do, everywhere I go, I trust in God.  I have learned on My Journey With God to trust fully in him.  Psalm 56:11, “In God I have put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me”.  But sometimes the enemy puts doubt in our minds.  Like when the Disciples saw Jesus walking on the water.  Bold Peter ask Jesus to call him out on the water and Jesus did, and Peter walked on water.  I can imagine how he felt for a brief second the aweness of walking on water.  But he looked at the wind around him the scripture says and became afraid and he started to sink. He cried out to Jesus to save him, Jesus reached out his had and pulled him up.  As they got into the boat they worshipped Jesus saying “you are the Son of God”.  (Matthew 14:29-33)  Sometimes I fall to the wind too.  I allow the enemy to place doubt in my mind and I fall for it hook, line and sinker.  But God is there every single time to pull me up.  Today, don’t let doubt come in, for what I learned it can put you in a deeper hole.  Don’t take your eyes off of Jesus, focus on allowing God to move and work in your life.  He will be with you every step of the way.

Pray:  God, today and from now on help me to always put my trust in you.  You gave up your life for me.  You are my strength, my guide, in all I do guide me and give me wisdom from above that is beyond measure.  I need you in my life everyday, forgive me when I do wrong and use me to tell others about you.

What is Love!

1 Corinthians 13:5 (NLT)

It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.

I knew writing about 1 Corinthians 13, I was going to be tested big time.  Remember I have said it before God always lets me experience what I will write.  This has not been any different, boy have I faced mountains this week.  But in all this God is Good, All the Time!  I have learned this, Love does not do the wrong thing, and it never thinks of itself.  Some times we can love too much.  Yes God calls us to love but not to the point that some one stumbles.  Second, Love does not get angry! I have learned that anger leads to no where, psalm 37:8, “Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil”.  This is hard because anger is a big human emotion, Ephesians 4:26, “In your anger do not sin” Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry”.  Love keeps no records of wrongs, if this was not true Christ would have not died for you and me.  You see even though we are full of sin and we miss the mark, God still loves us.  He loves us enough to send his Son to die for us.  John 3:16, “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life”.  Today when you love someone love them fully, remember not to be selfish with your love, remember to not be angry but love.  Remember, Love does not do the wrong thing. Love never thinks of itself. Love does not get angry. Love does not remember the suffering that comes from being hurt by someone. 1 Corinthians 13:5  This is what Love is not! So What is Love?  Love is Patient and Kind

Pray:  Lord thank you first of all for the love you have for me.  I don’t deserve it because im a sinner, but your love makes me whole.  God help me today to love in a way that is full of compassion and care.  Amen!

What Is Love? pt 2

1 Corinthians 13:4 (NIV)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

You know when I was way younger my family was not a family who had a lot of money.  My parents worked hard for maintaining the family.  I never had the designer jeans, or shoes but we never went with out.  In school I had friends whose parents gave them everything they ever wanted.  I believe at times they knew my family could not afford the expensive things and they would come to me in a rude way and boast about the new latest thing they bought.  You see God’s love for us is not that way, nor should our love for others be that way.  When we love God’s way it is not driven by “Self”  it is a love that is driven from the heart towards others.  Today Love with all your heart.

Pray:  Lord thank you for giving me an example of Pure love.  Help me show love today in a way that is not boastful, or proud, or envious, but a love that shows Jesus living in us. Amen!

Proverbs 17:17 (MSG)

One Who Knows Much Says Little

17 Friends love through all kinds of weather, and families stick together in all kinds of trouble.

In my ministry and On My Journey With God I have learned so much.  One thing I try to live my life as Jesus did,  and trust me it’s really hard well because I’m not Jesus.  You see Jesus Loved and was Loved, Jesus was joyful and happy and enjoyed celebrations, Jesus Cried, Jesus was angry at times, Jesus felt pity on others and helped, Jesus felt fear.  In all of these emotions Jesus was still humble.  Jesus’ other attribute was that He is also God.  Every situation Jesus encountered he took time to think before speaking or he prayed to God the Father.  I’m not God, I’m all human and I have faults and I’m full of flaws.  But the one thing I am, is that I’m forgiven.  I’m forgiven by the one who died for me.  Jesus!   Jesus is my savior and I strive to be like him my love for my friends will last any weather and I will stick with my family through any trouble.  Because my hope is in the Lord.  Psalm 25:5, “Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.  Today strive no matter what happens to love, and with that love to be a good friend, and to be a good family member.
Pray:  God when I feel alone you are there with me.  I want to be like you, I want to live my life pleasing you.  Not so others can say look at him/her, but for others to say Look at Jesus living in me!  I want to be an encourager and not a distraction.  I want my life to be explosive and bright shining your love.  Help me today as I strive to be a great friend and a great family member.  Amen!

What Is Love? Paient and Kind!

1 Corinthians 13:4 (NLT)

           Love is patient and kind.

You know when I look at myself, I find so many flaws about me.  You know were our own worst enemy.  My Fiance tells me I’m handsome, and I say every time “Yea Right”, and vice versa.  It’s a never-ending battle about ourselves and how we are on the inside and out.  So I’m coming from the approach of how I see my Fiance to see myself.  I love her with all my heart and she is so beautiful to me, my heart melts when I look at her and she takes my breath away, and I see no flaw in her, now she sees me in the same way.  I say that to say this, amidst all my flaws that I have God’s love for me is much bigger than our own.  When He see’s us, his love for us is Patient.  What does that mean exactly?  God is so patient with us his love is preserving, his love is longsuffering, his love is enduring, his love for us is so great. God’s love is so Kind to us, God’s kindness is mild, gentle, tender, and so compassionate towards us even though sometimes we don’t deserve it.  Today as you show love, do it with patience and kindness, and God will fill you with His great Love!

Pray:  God thank you for the love you give to me.  That patience and kind love even when I don’t deserve it. You freely give it to me.  Help me today show others to love by being patient and kind today! Amen.

What Is Love?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 (NLT)

Love Is the Greatest

If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.

The Lord revealed something to me yesterday and I want to share it with you today and the coming days as we study 1 Corinthians 13.  You see in this life, in Our Walk With God, the greatest thing we can ever do is love.  You see the bible tells us that God is the author of love.  1 John 4:16, “We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them”.  Sometimes I don’t have grace about things like I should.  Through God’s word we see that, “No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us”, 1 John 4:12.  I can do all the greatest things for me in my life, give to the poor, give away all that I have,  but if I don’t do them in love I have not succeed in anything.  Today, everything you do, do them in love.  You job, do it in love.  Your house work, do it in love.  In your relationships do them in the Love and Grace that Jesus gave to us.

Pray:  God Today help me to do everything in love.  I do not always do this every time, but today and everyday moving forward God help me to love and show mercy and grace.  Thank you for your help and guidance in my life. Amen!
