Listen With All Ears! Be Slow To Speak, Slow To Become Angry!

James 1:19
[ Listening and Doing ] My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.

I remember when I was younger how my mom would always ask me to get something from her room.  Be for she could finish her sentence I was off looking for what she asked for.  For example she would say “please go bring me my brush…”, when i heard brush I was gone.  When I would return with the brush she would say “where are my slippers, I said my brush and my slippers”?  She would get so mad at me because I would not listen to what she was telling me.  As a child I did that so much, and as an adult and because we live in a sociality today that everything is “Fast” even more so,  my reactions are quick and on the fly.  There has been many opportunities I have missed where God has tried to bless me or a better opportunity for me in my spiritual life.  Many blessings I missed because I have spoken too soon or my reactions were too quick when I should have looked the Lord for the answers.  James tells us to be quick to listen.  We are so quick to not listen but quick to react, we are so wired that way to become reactive.  It’s like we are always on guard and that’s ok but when we need to seek the Lord in all things.  In our decisions, so many times we make decisions on our own when we should seek God’s great Wisdom.  Psalms 14:2, “The LORD looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God”.  We are to be quick to listen, God has so many plans for us and we sometimes don’t allow Him to work in our life.  We should be slow to speak and slow to become angry.  Wow, do I need to work on that!  I’m reminded when I should have been slow to speak and slow to be angry, and I learn when it’s too late.  Let us not ever get to the point of “Too Late” or “There’s No Turning Back” because once we said it or do it, because asking for forgiveness hurts.  God is our greatest example.  In Psalms 86:15, “But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness”.  We should in faithfulness be abounding in love for one another, slow to anger, slow to speak, always listening for God to direct us in everything.  Today i pray you allow God to work in your life today.  Be slow to speak , and slow to anger knowing God is going to bless us with Love and Faithfulness.

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Pray:  God you are the one we should seek everyday in our lives.  You are a Great, Shining example of how we as your children should live our life.  Help me today to be slow to speak, and slow to anger, but listening with all attention to your direction in our lives.  You are a great God, and we love you .  Amen.

God Has Plans For You!

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Have you ever made plans, and all of a sudden they fall through, or what you planed with high expectation, really was a flop?  You know sometimes we have good intentions in the things we try to plan.  And life sometimes is not fair at all when it comes to that.  Like me when i finally find the time to wash my truck or plan to work on the yard, it rains.  Oh! For me that is so frustrating because of all the hard work and effort I put into what ever I did and the rain washes away my plans.  You see God knows what we need so he sends me the rain.  Why, God?  You know I just washed my Truck?  But then God reveals himself to me by reminding me that we needed the rain.  Then I ask Him to forgive my selfishness and I thank him for the rain.  Now I don’t know what plans you have made and they didn’t go through or you didn’t have a good outcome, but God has a plan for you today.  He knows what you are going through, He knows how you feel, He totally knows you.  Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”  The things we go through sometimes we feel alone, and abandoned, and we go through these things not because God is being mean. He does not want to harm us but, keep us safe.  Psalm 121:7, “The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life”.  He wants to prosper us, what does that mean?  To prosper means to be successful, to thrive, to flourish, to grow.  God wants us to be successful in everything we do.  He wants us to be better.  Why?  Because His plans are for us to have hope.  Our Hope is in Him and His Son who died for our sins, making a way for us to have a relationship with our great heavenly Father.  Psalm 25:5, “Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long”.  Our Glorious future is to live with Him on High!  Remember you are a Child of God! Psalm 94:11, “The LORD knows all human plans; he knows that they are futile”, “Psalm 33:11, “But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations“. Our God is Faithful, 2 Corinthians 1:8, “You can depend on God. Our message to you isn’t false; it’s true”.
Pray:  God you are so faithful! You have plans for my life, not to harm me but to give me a future and hope.  Thank you for caring for all of me, You are a great God.  Help me to remember that your plans are what is best for me.  Guide me and make me what you  want me to be.  Amen.

How Great Is Our God!

Psalm 33 (NIV)

 1 Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. 2 Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. 3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy. 4 For the word of the LORD is right and true;  he is faithful in all he does.
5 The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.6 By the word of the LORD the heavens were made,
   their starry host by the breath of his mouth. 7 He gathers the waters of the sea into jars[a];  he puts the deep into storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him. 9 For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.

Today i’m am so in Awe of God!  He is so Great! This morning I was listening to Chris Tomlin’s “How Great Is Our God” song and I was just blown away by it.  (Click The Link Above)  You know I have stood in church many times and played and sang that same song and never have I heard it today.  To be honest with you this is just what God wanted me to hear today.  I wanted to share that with you too.  God is so great in my life, I love every chance I get to tell others about Him.  I love every chance I get to worship him at church, in my car, at home where ever I am I’m always thanking him for what He does for me.  I don’t know I feel that there is some one who is going to read this today that might need to remember how great God is in their life, because i was going to totally write on another subject.  But God is the one who is guiding us.  As I continued to listen I was reminded of how it must have been in the beginning.  Genesis 1:1-3, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light”.  The first book of the bible and the first verses show how God is so powerful and Great to create the Heavens and the earth and he spoke light into existence.  I just sat at my desk and could not believe how Greater God just became in my mind.  I sit here telling you this today cause I know On Our Journey With God, times are tough, stuff happens in our life sometimes that we don’t or wish would not happen in our lives but I can honestly sit here and tell you, “We will be ok”!  God is an awesome God, and if you feel alone, or you feel that you can’t talk to anyone.  I want you to know God is here for you.

Psalms 145:1-8

I lift you high in praise, my God, O my King! and I’ll bless your name into eternity.

 2 I’ll bless you every day,
      and keep it up from now to eternity.
 3 God is magnificent; he can never be praised enough.
      There are no boundaries to his greatness.
 4 Generation after generation stands in awe of your work;
      each one tells stories of your mighty acts.
 5 Your beauty and splendor have everyone talking;
      I compose songs on your wonders.
 6 Your marvelous doings are headline news;
      I could write a book full of the details of your greatness.
 7 The fame of your goodness spreads across the country;
      your righteousness is on everyone’s lips.

 8 God is all mercy and grace—
      not quick to anger, is rich in love.

Pray:  God you are so Great!  I pray you show me how great you can be in my life today.  Give me a great day in your Greatness.  I worship you with all that I have.  Thank you for your gift of salvation through your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today, Be Cheerful No Matter What!

1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 (MSG)

 Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.

Blessings!  Thank God for Blessings!  I’m so happy because God blesses me.  This morning I did what I always do, I open my eyes, I smile, and then i pray, thanking God for a new day.  Yes I’m serious I do that every morning.  I just can’t help it, because God always comes through for me and my family.  I’m blessed with all that i have, because they were given to me from God.  I want you to know that you can feel that way to everytime you get up.  You might be saying well Pastor Charles, do you not have any problems?  And I will tell you “YES” I do!  But this is the Key! You Ready?  “Be Cheerful No Matter What! I will say it again, Be Cheerful, but how can I Pastor Charles? I have bills, I have family issues, and the list goes on.  I have all of those too, but what keeps me so Cheerful, is because I Pray All The Time!  No matter what happens, I pray, for everything and in everything.  You see you must put yourself in the presence of the Lord everyday.  On Our Journey With God, is simply just that, everyday we walk with him.  You have to stay connected to Jesus.  John 15:5 says “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing”.  Everyday for us to be cheerful christians we must remain in Him.  Today I encourage you to take everything you have in your life, starting with you, and give it to God.  The Best thing you can do is give your life to God.  Give Him all you have and He will change your life.

1 Peter 5:7 says, “Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully”.

Pray:  God you are wonderful and beautiful, and you take care of me.  Today I give all that i have and place it at your feet.  You guide my life, give me strength when I’m weak and help me to be cheerful everyday knowing I can give you all my troubles and my worries and you will take care of them.  Amen.

For Mom’s & Dad’s!

I Dedicate This Blog To My Mom & Dad

I Love You Both!

Ephesians 6 (NIV)

 1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”  4 Fathers,do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

On my blog today I want to thank Mothers and Fathers out there who do really well at taking care of their children.  You know parents, God gives us our children and they belong to Him.  But He gives them to us, for us to take care of them.  In his word God Himself tells us in Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it”.  If we do our job as Christians in teaching our children they will never forget God.  In our scripture for today God is telling our children how important it is to “Obey” their parents.  Important because they will live a long life.. If they don’t listen no telling how short life will be.  I love it too because it has a message for fathers.  It directs Fathers to bring up their children in training and instruction of the Lord.   This is where we see God directing the father to be the spiritual leader of the home.  This is very important, it shows how God wants families to be together in everything, to God family is important.  You know my father is the best dad ever.  If I could give him a title I would say it is “Superman”.  My dad taught me so much about life.  He taught me how to treat others and that I should treat them as I would want to be treated and then he explained to me how God tells us that.  So he would teach me and then show how scripture “The Word of God” is urging us to do the same.  I leaned a lot from my Mom and Dad and I am so greatful.  My dad retires this year and I’m so proud of him.  He deserves this, and so much more.  He loves the Lord, My beautiful father Fernando Charles Sr.  a Great Man of God.  I love you Dad.  When I look at my children I love them with all my heart and I continue to pray for them everyday.  I also pray for myself that God guide in bring them up and teaching them to obey His commandments.  I know that sometimes life throws us a curve ball, or circumstances change, or we do things ourselves instead of waiting on God, He is always there for us.  God is always willing and forgiving when we realize we have done wrong, to help us back up and put us on the right path.  Parents I know it’s a daily struggle with our kids, trust me I have 7.  In Our Journey With God, he calls us to be good stewards of what he has given to us.  Our children, need us even when life gets tough.  Hang in there and remember God’s promises.  If you need strength, Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength”.  If you have financial needs to be met, Philippians 4:19, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus”.  Go to God’s word you will find all you need for your walk with Him everyday.  I continue to pray for all parents.  Allow God to guide you everyday.

Prayer for Parents:  “God thank you for the blessings that you have given to me.  My children are my blessings and are the best gift I could have ever received along with the free gift of salvation from your Son Jesus Christ.  Help me to teach them your ways according to Your living word.  Protect them when I am not with them.  Guide them to make the best decisions when I’m not there. I love them with all my heart.  Thank you Lord for your Word, your protection, your shelter you give to us. Amen.

You Are Never Alone!

Psalm 23(NLV)

The Lord—Our Shepherd

 1 The Lord is my Shepherd. I will have everything I need. 2 He lets me rest in fields of green grass. He leads me beside the quiet waters. 3 He makes me strong again. He leads me in the way of living right with Himself which brings honor to His name. 4 Yes, even if I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not be afraid of anything, because You are with me. You have a walking stick with which to guide and one with which to help. These comfort me. 5 You are making a table of food ready for me in front of those who hate me. You have poured oil on my head. I have everything I need. 6 For sure, You will give me goodness and loving-kindness all the days of my life. Then I will live with You in Your house forever.

Have you ever gone through something and maybe felt alone, or maybe you have been down about a situation that only you know what it is and you feel so alone because you can’t tell anyone?  I love this verse because if we ever feel that way it tell us that we are never alone.  The Lord is our shepherd.  I looked up the word “Shepherd” and I found that it means, “a person who protects, guides, or watches over a person or group of people”.  You see this is what God does for us, he is the one who guides our life if we let him.  God is the one who knows us best and his ways are the best for us.  Isaiah 48:17 “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go”.  He watches over and protects us.  Proverbs 27:18, “for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones”.  So when ever you feel alone, look to Psalm 23 and let David inspire you to know that on Our Journey With God, we are Never Alone!

Pray:  Our most Wonderful Heavenly Father, thank you for your guidance and your protection when we feel alone.  You are a Great God, and I praise you.  Continue to guide and protect me and my family.  I know you will your word says you will.  Help me to grow into a wonderful work of art that you continue to creat everyday in me.  In Jesus name Amen.

The God Who Protects Us!

Psalm 16:1 “Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to you for refuge”.

David the great Psalmist prayed for protection.  Never be afraid to call on our God and ask for protection.  David prayed as he did many times before because he knew God was always listening.  He prayed this prayer many times in his life.  Most notably when he fought Goliath of Gath.  Can imagin haveing to fight a giant?  David did and he did it with God’s protection.  In our life today God can fight our Goliath’s, those mountians that seem imposible to climb.  No mater what you are facing this week pray for God’s protection.  He is there waiting for us to come to Him.  Psalm 62:1 “My soul is quiet and waits for God alone. He is the One Who saves me”.  Here David is thankful because God has protected him..  Rely on God today to be your protector.

Prayer:  God thank you for protecting me.  You have up to this very moment and you continue to.  I love you Lord and I Praise Your Greatness. Amen

Cast All Your Anxiety On Him Because He cares For You

1 Peter 5:7 (MSG)

So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you.

So here is the question?  Did you wake up this morning and the birds were singing?  You were so happy, and excited to start the new day?  You jumped out of bed with a smile from ear to ear so happy.  Excited to go to work or school, ready to face you day head on? Is this you, or did you dread getting up because it was nice and cozy under the blankets, or dreading going to work or school.  If this is how your feeling today I’m praying that you see today that God has something great for you.  Give everything you have to God, you soul, your heart, you mind, give it all to Him God is going to bless you today and I know He will because we are to ” Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you”.  Don’t pretend to be someone you are not, be happy with yourself because God created you for Him.  In His timing He is going to better us, He is going to put us in a place where we need to be that is bigger and better than where we are now.  Live life in the now, do not worry about was has already happened because we can not change it.  But be happy, because right now you are in the right place with God.  I love the saying, Live, Laugh, Love, because that is what God is calling us to do.  Why?  BECAUSE HE CARES FOR YOU!  Have a blessed day today and let God move you as you live your life in full view for everyone to see.  Show them God’s love through your life in Our Journey With God.

Prayer:  God when life gets us down, or when we are just so tired help us to remember that we can  Cast all our anxiety on you because you Care for Us.  Your a great God and we thank you for all you do for us, continue to watch over my family, watch over me, you Guide me today. Amen

A Learning Experience

Psalm 138:8(NLT)
 8 The LORD will work out his plans for my life—  for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever.  Don’t abandon me, for you made me.

Everyday is a learning experience for me.  I’m the type of person that learns the hard way sometimes, yes i will admit that. Sometimes I try the hardest to plan things out and you know sometimes they just don’t pan out.  I get so frustrated and upset.  Am I a perfectionist?  Or am I just some one who really doesn’t like surprises.  This thing with in me i struggle with daily, I try to take the wheel of my life and drive it.  So many times I find myself stuck in life’s traffic jams, or along the side of life’s road broke down.  David reminds me that God is in control of my life.  All those times I feel so frustrated is because I’m trying to God’s job.  When all along He is the one who knows me best.  He is the one who knows what is best for me and My Journey With Him.  can you imagine how our life would be if God never guided our life?  What a mess it would be.  So today I’m learning to, Stop, take a step back, and allow God to guide me in my life.  Friends, God knows each and every one of us and is wanting so much to have a relationship with him.  I urge you allow God to Work in you, Guide you in the direction He wants you to go and i know He will take you to places you’ve never been before.

Psalm 119:98, “Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide”
Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path”.
Psalm 139:10, “even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me”.
Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank you for being the one who guides me.  I know I would not do a great job at it.  You know me best and you know what is best for me.  Thank you for you love.  Help me in all I do, and make me the way You want me to be.  I love you Lord and I praise Your Holy Name.  Amen.
